business readiness testing

Our Business Readiness Testing Service (BRT) addresses the final testing stage of making sure a business system is tested and fit for purpose before implementation in a ‘live’ business environment.

The service includes the following activities:

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT)
  • Compliance Acceptance Testing

Software implementations typically require extensive BRT to be carried out as part of the sign-off acceptance by the business end user. The problem this presents is that many companies encounter disruption to their ‘Business as Usual’ operations caused by the involvement of their most knowledgeable and experienced resources in the preparation and execution of acceptance tests.

To address this we have developed our BRT proposition around the classic V-Model, going beyond the simple execution of use cases and test scripts, by firstly collating and verifying the system requirements and documenting them so that they can be used as test cases for acceptance of the system by the business users during final BRT.

The service complements, rather than replaces, the conventional IT service within an organisation, by working with a business department to enable it to accept the new systems being developed and/or integrated by the IT department. The service then manages and coordinates the final integration of the system and includes the planning and execution of the testing cycles with the business users.

A critical factor in the success of the service is early engagement with a business department/division involved in a business change or integration programme.

This will ensure successful planning and preparation work and minimise the stress on the business teams, allowing them to operate uninterrupted through the business change.
